About Anemos Tours - Private Mediterranean Travel Since 1996
We started planning Mediterranean journeys in 1996 — the year before Google existed, six years before TripAdvisor launched, a decade before the iPhone changed how people research travel.
We're still here. Still family-owned. Still based in Astoria, New York. Still focused exclusively on the Mediterranean. And still beginning every trip the same way we began the first one thirty years ago — with a conversation.
What We Do
Anemos Tours plans fully private Mediterranean journeys for couples, honeymooners, families, small groups, and corporate travelers. Our destinations are Greece, Italy, Spain, Turkey, Morocco, Jordan, Egypt, France, Malta, and Cyprus.
Every itinerary is built from scratch. We don't sell packages, run fixed group departures, or put strangers in the same vehicle. We plan private travel — one client at a time, starting with a personal conversation about who is traveling and what they want.
The four things we handle on every trip: consulting, research, planning, and customizing. In that order. Always starting with you.
How We Work
We Listen First
Every trip starts with understanding who is traveling — your interests, your pace, your budget, what you're hoping to come home with. No two travelers are the same, so no two itineraries are either. We don't start designing until we understand what we're designing for.
We Design Thoughtfully
Thirty years of firsthand Mediterranean experience means we know which hotels actually have the view they advertise, which guides bring a site to life rather than reading from a script, which restaurant table is worth requesting in advance, and how to pace a multi-destination itinerary so no day feels rushed and no destination feels shortchanged.
We Handle Everything
Flights, hotels, private transfers, guides, restaurant reservations, ferry bookings, activity tickets — we coordinate every element so you don't have to manage multiple vendors, track multiple confirmations, or make decisions you're not equipped to make from three thousand miles away.
We're Reachable When It Matters
From your first question to your return home, we are contactable. Travel doesn't always go to plan — and when it doesn't, the difference between a disruption and a disaster is almost always whether someone who knows the suppliers and the destinations is reachable in real time. We are.
Thirty Years in the Mediterranean - What That Actually Means
Three decades of planning private Mediterranean travel have given us something no booking platform can replicate: genuine firsthand knowledge of these destinations and relationships with the people in them.
We have been to the properties we recommend. We know the guides we work with by name. We have eaten in the restaurants we book tables at. We have navigated the ferry systems, the archaeological sites, the mountain roads, and the medinas that our clients are about to encounter, and we have done it enough times to know what goes wrong and how to prevent it.
A lot has changed since 1996. The internet transformed travel planning. September 11th reshaped the industry. Economic crises tested everyone. COVID shut the world down. We are still here, still planning private Mediterranean journeys, still family-owned, still starting every trip with a conversation.
