Itinerary ( B = breakfast, D = dinner )

Day 1: THURSDAY Arrival in Rome.
Arrive in Rome at any time. Optional transfer from the airport to the hotel. There are no planned activities so check into our hotel and enjoy the city overnight.
 
Day 2: FRIDAY: ROME (B)
Breakfast. This morning you will discover ancient Rome. We begin the guided tour with access to the Palatine hill with no line and discover the hill where Rome was founded. Then reach the Coliseum, the largest amphitheater in the world, created to entertain ancient Roman citizens. Then, walk on the original path of ancient Rome in the Roman Forum, and witness the glorious past of the Roman Empire. Free time in the afternoon. Overnight in Rome.
 
Day 3: SATURDAY: ROME (B)
Breakfast. The Vatican City is not only the “hearth” of Christendom but also an art treasure. Take a guided tour to the Vatican Museums, admiring the Gallery of Tapestries and the Geographical Maps, before arriving at the famous Sistine Chapel. Then continue with exclusive access to St. Peter’s Basilica, skipping long lines. Free time in the afternoon. Overnight.
 
Day 4: SUNDAY: AMALFI COAST (B, D)
Breakfast. Transfer from the hotel to the train station and continue to Naples by train; transfer from Naples train station to Sorrento hotel by car. There are no planned activities so check into your hotel and enjoy the city. Dinner and overnight in Sorrento.
Day 5: MONDAY: CAPRI AND ANACAPRI (B, D)
When the red sun sinks at Capri: Today is a highlight on the program: by boat, you will arrive at the magical island of the sirens, which inspired and still inspires an endless number of artists. Visit of Anacapri with the possibility of the visit at Villa San Michele. In Capri, you can have a walk from the Piazza to the Gardens of August, which offer a unique view of the Faraglioni rocks and the rugged south coast of the island. In the afternoon free time to explore the beautiful island on your own. Possibility to visit the much-sung Blue Grotto (weather permitting). In the afternoon back to Sorrento for dinner and overnight.
 
Day 6: TUESDAY: AMALFI COAST (B, D)
Free time at leisure or opt to book an optional excursion to the Amalfi coast. The Amalfi coast is one of the most spectacular coastlines in Europe. The winding road, surrounded by rocks, offers breathtaking panoramic views. You will get fantastic and unforgettable impressions. We stop in Positano, another jewel of this coast, for a photo stop. Then continue on to Amalfi, the town, after which the coast is named. Once it was a rich and powerful maritime republic and now it represents a major tourist resort. In the cathedral are kept the tombs of the saint patron of Amalfi and also of St. Andrew of Scotland. Continuation to Ravello with the possibility to visit Villa Rufolo (Entryticket extra). Otherwise, you can spend your time walking or just relaxing and enjoying your time in the area of Sorrento. Overnight.
 
Day 7: WEDNESDAY: POMPEI - SALERNO – MESSINA (B, D)
Departure from the hotel towards Pompeii. Pompeii is for its visitors of the greatest fascination. After the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD, Pompeii lay buried and forgotten for centuries under the lava. The excavations, which already began in the 18th century, still go on today. Our guide will lead you through some of the ancient streets, where you can see Baths, Forums, and villas which were built by wealthy Romans in 80 BC. It is nearly unbelievable how well the fabulous frescoes that adorn the walls and floors of the villas have been preserved. Continuation to the port. Departure at about 14:00 o'clock to Sicily. Arrival at about 22 o'clock*. Transfer to hotel, cold dinner, and overnight.*seats reserved.
 
Day 8: THURSDAY: ETNA - TAORMINA (B, D)
In the morning excursion to Mt. Etna, the highest peak of Sicily and the most active volcano in Europe. The territory surrounding the Vulcan constitutes the “Park of Etna”, one of the largest protected areas in Italy: You will be astonished by the great variety of vegetation and landscapes that we will meet along the way before arriving at the “ Silvestri Craters” (about 1.900 mt). From here on you will have the option to continue the excursion by jeep. Stop at a local beekeeper to taste quality honey and see how it is produced. In the afternoon visit Taormina, situated on a rocky plateau on the slopes of the steeply dropping Monte Tauro, Possibility, to visit the Greek-Roman theatre, the 2nd largest classical theatre in Sicily. Overnight.
 
Day 9: FRIDAY: TAORMINA MARE – NOTO - SYRACUSE (B, D)
Full-day excursion to Noto and Syracusa. Noto, the jewel of Sicilian Baroque, is on the UNESCO world heritage list for its beautiful baroque churches and "palazzi". The visit goes through the historical center of the town and reaches the main monuments like the cathedral, the Santa Chiara church, Palazzo Ducezio, and the Via Nicolaci, the famous road for the yearly Infiorata-flower festival. On to Syracusa, one of the most interesting archaeological sites on the island. Guided tour at the Archeological Park, the Roman Amphitheatre, the Greek Theatre, the Ear of Dionysus, the Cave of the Cordari, the Island of Ortigia, the most ancient nucleus of the city with its stunning cathedral. Overnight in the Taormina area.
 
Day 10: SATURDAY: TAORMINA MARE (B)
After breakfast, depart at any time or you may opt to continue your stay in Sicily or return to Sorrento or depart to another location.
