MONDAY: Amman – Wadi Rum Jeep excursion – Little Petra (Summer Time) – Petra (B)

Full buffet breakfast at the hotel in the main dining room in Amman Hotel. Transfer to Wadi Rum Vast, echoing and God-like", these are the words T. E. Lawrence used in describing Wadi Rum, the largest and most magnificent of Jordan's desert landscapes. In these ancient valleys, the elements of nature have modeled and carved out this panorama and have left us strips of scorched earth, sides of carved mountains, and stretches of sand that can change into shades of yellow, red find orange. The hours before sunset and those of early morning are the best moments to appreciate the landscape; however, there are many places to visit in this vast terrain, the most important of which is Lawrence of Arabia's springs, Jebel Khazali, and the mountain of the seven pillars of wisdom. The most captivating experience, however, remains a night's stay beside the fire and under the most magnificent starry desert sky then visit Little Petra We will drive to visit Al Beidha or Little Petra is the next most important site for the casual visitor in Wadi Musa. This site is only a few kilometers (around a 10-minute drive) north of Petra; Little Petra is hidden away in the center of a mountain with a classical temple standing guard outside the mini-Siq. Little Petra appears to have been an important suburb of the city of Petra and is at the point where several ancient caravan routes met, then transfer to Petra hotel for overnight.

TUESDAY: Petra – Amman (B)

Full buffet breakfast at the hotel in the main dining room in Petra Hotel, Jordan abounds in archaeological riches, from Neolithic ruins to the desert castles of Umayyad Princes. Chief among these national treasures is the soul-stirring, rose-red city of Petra, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Petra is the legacy of the Nabateans, an industrious Arab people who settled in south Jordan more than 2000 years ago. Much of Petra's appeal comes from its spectacular setting deep inside a narrow desert gorge. From the main entrance, the visitor travels on foot through the excellent "SIQ", an immense crack in the sandstone that winds for one kilometer between overhanging cliffs. Petra's most famous monument, the Treasury, appears dramatically at the end of the Siq and various walks and climbs reveal hundreds of buildings, facades, tombs, baths, funerary halls, temples, and a 3000-seat theater from the 1st Century AD, then transfer Amman hotel for overnight.

WEDNESDAY: Amman – Madaba – Mt. Nebo (B)

Full buffet breakfast at the hotel in the main dining room in Amman Hotel, Start the day with visiting MADABA / MOUNT NEBO The trip south of Amman along the 5,000 years old King’s Highway is one of the most memorable journeys in the Holy Land, passing through a string of ancient sites. The first city along the way from the north is Madaba, “the City of Mosaics" which has been intermittently inhabited for nearly 3,500 years. The chief attraction in this city is a wonderfully vivid, six-century Byzantine mosaic map showing Jerusalem and other holy sites; there are also literally hundreds of other mosaics scattered throughout Madaba's churches and homes. Ten minutes to the west is Mount Nebo, the memorial of Moses, and the presumed site of the prophet's death and burial place. From a platform in front of the church one can enjoy a breathtaking view across the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea, then transfer to Amman Airport or the land borders for departure.
