WEDNESDAY: TAORMINA  (D)
Arrive in the Taormina area at any time. Taormina is one of the best places to visit if you plan to spend your vacation days on the Italian island of Sicily. There are no planned activities so check into our hotel and enjoy the city. Overnight.

 

THURSDAY: TAORMINA  MARE - ETNA – TAORMINA (B, D)
In the morning excursion to Mt. Etna, the highest peak of Sicily and the most active volcano in Europe. The territory surrounding the Vulcan constitutes the “Park of Etna”, one of the largest protected areas in Italy:  You will be astonished by the great variety of vegetation and landscapes that we will meet along the way before arriving at the “Silvestri Craters” (about 1.900 meters). From here on you will have the option to continue the excursion by jeep. Stop at a local beekeeper to taste quality honey and have a wine tasting and see how it is produced. In the afternoon visit Taormina, situated on a rocky plateau on the slopes of the steeply dropping Monte Tauro, dominating the Ionian coast from Capo.  Sant’Andrea to Capo Taormina. Option to visit the Greek-Roman theatre, the 2nd largest classical theatre in Sicily.

 

FRIDAY: TAORMINA MARE – SYRACUSE – NOTO - POZZALLO PORT – MALTA (B)
Departure to have a full-day excursion to Siracusa, Noto, and then transfer to Pozzallo port to depart to Malta. First, stop in Siracusa one of the most interesting archaeological sites on the island. Guided tour at the Archeological Park, the Roman Amphitheatre, the Greek Theatre, the Ear of Dionysus, the Cave of the Cordari, the Island of Ortigia, the most ancient nucleus of the city with its stunning cathedral. On to Noto to discover the beautiful baroque in Sicily. Transfer to Pozzallo port and departure by ferry to Malta. Arrive in Malta in the late evening. Meet our assistant and transfer to the hotel.

 

SATURDAY: MALTA – LA VALLETTA and the THREE CITIES (B)
Departure for the excursion to La Valletta. Our guide will show you all the beauties of this island founded by the Chevaliers in 1566. We will begin our tour from the” Grande Porto”, the principal port of Malta, then visit San Juan Cathedral where we will admire the paintings of Caravaggio and the Flemish tapestry. We will end our tour with a visit to the area opposite Valletta known as “The THREE CITIES”, Vittoriosa, Senglea, and Cospicua. Overnight.

 

SUNDAY: MALTA – MDINA (B)
Departure to Mdina, the ancient capital of the island in the central side of Malta. Its winding, narrow streets dating back to the Middle Ages will lead us to the imposing ramparts which offer a panoramic view of the island. Mdina is also known as the "silent city”.  After lunch (at your expense) we will stop at the catacombs of the early Christians in Rabat and then proceed to Dingli Cliffs. On to the visit of the botanical gardens of the Presidential Palace at San Anton (external views). A brief stop to the craft village of Ta'Qali.

 

MONDAY:  MALTA - POZZALLO - TAORMINA AREA (B, D)
Early transfer to Malta port and departure to Pozzallo. Arriving and transfer to your hotel in the Taormina area. Day at leisure to explore and enjoy. Dinner and overnight.

 

TUESDAY: TAORMINA AREA – OPTIONAL EXCURSIONS TO PANAREA AND STROMBOLI ISLANDS (B, D)
You are free to relax and explore the city, swim and relax by the beach, or opt to join our excursion to Panarea and Stromboli. Start your day trip by boarding your air-conditioned coach and then relax on the journey to the port of Giardini Naxos (or transfer by bus to the port of Milazzo, boarding on a private vessel). Departure at 12.00 a.m. Arrival to Panarea at 01.30 p.m.  Free time to visit the island and to have lunch in a typical restaurant (optional, not included in the price). It is possible to choose different kinds of visits: VISIT OF THE HISTORICAL CENTER (historical and cultural itinerary), ENJOY THE BEACH, or SHOPPING. Departure at 04.00 p.m. for Stromboli and free time to visit the island. It is possible to choose different kinds of visits: VISIT OF THE HISTORICAL CENTER (historical and cultural itinerary),
ENJOY THE BEACH AND SHOPPING. Stop and have free time on the island until sunset. Departure at 07.00 p.m. Tour the island by boat and visit the “Sciara del Fuoco” by night to admire the volcano’s activity from the sea. Return to Taormina at 24.00 p.m. and transfer to the hotel. N.B. Departure time from Stromboli will be modified throughout the season. N.B. The departures are subject to change due to weather and sea conditions. Ecotax is obligatory and is not included.

 

WEDNESDAY: TAORMINA / ACIREALE AREA (B)
