Saturday – Arrival in Taormina Area (D)
Arrive in the Taormina area, one of Sicily’s most enchanting coastal destinations. Check into your hotel and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure. An informative welcome brochure will be available at reception. Dinner and overnight in Taormina area.
Sunday – Castelbuono, Cefalù & Arrival in Palermo (B)
Meet your tour guide for a morning briefing before departing for Castelbuono, a charming medieval town built around the 14th‑century Ventimiglia Castle. Continue to Cefalù, a picturesque seaside village known for its medieval streets and its magnificent UNESCO‑listed Norman Cathedral, founded by King Roger II.
In the afternoon, travel to Palermo, Sicily’s vibrant capital. Overnight in Palermo.
Monday – Palermo & Monreale + Optional Monte Pellegrino & Mondello (B)
Enjoy a half‑day guided tour of Palermo, exploring the historic center, the Royal Palace, the Palatine Chapel, and the impressive Palermo Cathedral.
Continue to Monreale, home to one of the world’s greatest Norman cathedrals, famous for its dazzling Byzantine mosaics and elegant cloister.
In the afternoon, explore Palermo independently or join an optional excursion to Monte Pellegrino, praised by Goethe as “the most beautiful promontory in the world,” and the seaside village of Mondello, known for its turquoise waters and sandy beach. Overnight in Palermo.
Tuesday – Erice, Selinunte & Agrigento (B, D)
Depart for Erice, a medieval hilltop town offering panoramic views and home to the Norman Castle and ancient cathedral. Enjoy a tasting of Erice’s famous almond pastries.
Continue to Trapani, known for its historic center and coastal charm.
In the afternoon, visit the Selinunte Archaeological Park, one of the largest ancient Greek sites in the Mediterranean, featuring temples and an impressive acropolis.
Travel onward to Agrigento. Dinner and overnight in Agrigento.
Wednesday – Valley of the Temples, Piazza Armerina & Taormina Beach (B, D)
Visit the world‑renowned Valley of the Temples, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Highlights include the Temple of Juno, the Temple of Concordia (one of the best‑preserved Doric temples in the Greek world), the Temple of Hercules, and the Temple of Castor and Pollux.
Continue to Piazza Armerina for a tasting of Sicilian specialties—olive pâté, olives, marmalades, and local wines.
Then tour the Villa Romana del Casale, famous for its extraordinary collection of late‑Roman mosaics.
Arrive in Taormina Mare in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight.
Thursday – Mount Etna & Taormina (B, D)

Friday – Noto & Syracuse: Baroque Splendor & Ancient History (B, D)
Full‑day excursion beginning in Noto, the jewel of Sicilian Baroque architecture and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Continue to Syracuse, one of the most important archaeological sites in the Mediterranean. Highlights include:

Greek Theatre
Ear of Dionysus
Cave of the Cordari
Ortigia Island, the ancient heart of Syracuse with its stunning cathedral
Return to Taormina Mare in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight.
